Doritos Superbowl Ad

Is this blasphemy?

What do you think and why?

I'm not sure if I would say that it is outright blasphemy. My understanding of that word has more to do with the absolute denial of God, i.e., rejection of Him. I would also say that a closer illustration of blasphemy would be the acts done 'in His name' which completely go against Him and His will, i.e., The Westboro Baptist Church (perhaps a video of them protesting the death of our soldiers would have been a better clip to follow this title).

I like to believe that God has a pretty good sense of humor and is more ticked off at lunatics proclaiming to be under His guidance then He is about a Doritos Ad.

Regardless, the creaters of this ad certainly are showing some 'poor taste', knowing that the ad could certainly be viewed as offensive to a large population of believers (especially those of the Catholic faith).

I laughed at the commercial though. Mostly because I believe that if a church thought that offering Doritos and Pepsi would help raise funds for a new building, etc., that they'd do it in a heartbeat. I think we've all been witness to some pretty savvy attempts at creating hype and helping to drive campaigns. Not all churches (thankfully), but quite a few.

I won't boycott Doritos because I believe that God inspired their creation.
